About this Blog

Sanfoka is an African word that symbolizes one taking from the past what is good and bringing it into the present in order to make positive progress through the benevolent use of knowledge.

This blog is about my experiences as a fresh graduate working in a Global 500 company as a professional Software Developer.  This blog also reflects upon the status of the thriving software development outsourcing industry in the Philippines. I chose to name this blog Sanfoka because most of my posts reflects about my past experiences and how those experiences relates to my current profession.

I have three (3) reasons why I started this blog. First, I was inspired to create this blog mainly because I want to share the experiences of a very passionate, technical and geeky fresh graduate who is working on his first job as a professional computer programmer. Second, I was inspired by Joel Spolsky who, most people believe, is the first blogger to blog about Software Development. Finally, I started this blog because I want to train myself to be able to write gracefully (which will hopefully help me in writing non-boring technical documentations). :D
